Political Geography and Geopolitics in the light of an integrative review

The fields of studies on Political Geography and Geopolitics have been structured in the long duration since the 19th century up to the present day permeated by different. Due to this reason, understanding the profile of contemporary discussions turns out to be essential for a better comprehension about the construction of scientific knowledge in an era of complexity. Taking as a reference the fields of scientific research in Political Geography and Geopolitics, this article aims to perform a systematic study in three languages - English; Spanish and Portuguese in the period between 1980s up to 2020 through an integrative review methodological framework. It is concluded based on the results presented in this research the existence of an eclectic profile of scientific productions and an ambiguous use regarding the concepts of Political Geography and Geopolitics as well as this latter one being prevalent in the speeches.
